As a third grade teacher who has taken one of her goldens to school every day for the last 11 years and has an after-school program called "Canine Classroom" which teaches elementary students how to be responsible pet owners, the kennel prefix "Schoolhouse" seemed a perfect choice.

I am actively involved in conformation and obedience.  As a member of the Golden Retriever Club of America, Board Member in charge of educational programs for the all-breed Mt. Pleasant Michigan Kennel Club, and Vice-President of the Mid-Michigan Golden Retriever Club, as well as subscribing to breed publications, I am able to keep current on the issues, concerns and joys of Golden Retrievers.

Located in mid-Michigan, I am not a big breeder.  In fact, I do not even have a kennel- all my dogs live in my house with me.  When I have a litter of puppies, they are lovingly raised in my family room where they are able to be constantly monitored, handled, socialized and accustomed to everyday household activities and noises.  All puppies are sold with a written health guarantee.

I hope you will check out the rest of my web site and meet the dogs at SCHOOLHOUSE!!  I am very proud of all their accomplishments- whether it be a championship, obedience title, or king of the couch!  In fact, I value their contribution in bringing smiles to the patients in the hospital they visit, and the lessons in unconditional love and trust that they teach my at-risk students to be their most important qualities.
