As a third grade Michigan teacher who took one of her Goldens to school every day for 18 years and had an after-school program called "Canine Classroom" which taught elementary students how to be responsible pet owners, the kennel prefix "Schoolhouse" seemed a perfect choice.

What a wonderful surprise I discovered at the 2005 Golden Retriever National in Gettysburg, PA ----- my new husband, Richard Caldwell (Glengowan Goldens)!! I retired from teaching, we got married in July, 2007 and the dogs and I moved to Texas. While our dogs are now just one big happy family and we own all the dogs together, we have retained our own kennel names. Glengowan/Schoolhouse is located in northeast of Dallas, Texas on 45 acres -- lots of room for Goldens to run and play, and there are also two ponds for swimming and field training. We would love for you to come visit us.

Dick and I are actively involved in conformation, field, obedience, and agility. We are members of the Golden Retriever Club of America where Dick is the Western Director, as well as President of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metro Golden Retriever Club. We subscribe to breed publications and are on several active internet lists for Golden breeders and exhibitors. Therefore, we are able to keep current on the issues, concerns and joys of Golden Retrievers.
